My name is Khashayar Irani, and I am originally from Iran. However, I am currently residing in the United Kingdom.

Academically, I am a Mathematical Logician, an Analytic Philosopher, and a Pure Mathematician. My primary area of expertise in logic is Proof Theory—specifically, Structural Proof Theory, the proof-theoretic analysis of structural and substructural proof systems particularly Classical and Intuitionistic Logic, Proof Search, Ordinal Analysis, and Consistency Proofs. In philosophy, my main focus lies in Foundations of Logic and Mathematics, including First-Order Logic, Theory of Logical Consequence, Proof-Theoretic Semantics, Bilateralism, Hilbert Programme, and Primitive Recursive Arithmetic. I also have a strong interest in Hegel’s Philosophy of History and Nietzsche’s Moral Philosophy. In pure mathematics, I am particularly concerned with Number Theory due to its deep logical and philosophical implications.

In addition, I have a strong interest in History and Religious Studies, particularly those related to Ancient Iran and Zoroastrianism. During my leisure time, I enjoy reading Persian poetry, especially the works of Ferdowsi and Attar of Nishapur, as well as classic novels such as Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude (1967).

In terms of sport, I have a deep appreciation for Chinese Kung Fu, especially the Cai Li Fo style, in which I trained for several years. This powerful and dynamic martial art taught me numerous techniques and the use of various traditional weapons, including the Sai, Nunchaku, and Bo.

With regard to music and cinema, I consider the 1970s and 1980s to be a golden age. This is evident from my childhood favourites, such as New Kids on the Block and MC Hammer, whose music I still enjoy today. I am also an admirer of Pink Floyd, particularly their 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. My favourite film is The Godfather (1972).

Despite being an adult, I still enjoy watching cartoons. While this may sound amusing, I find cartoons to be rich in philosophical insights and deeply nostalgic. My favourite cartoon, which was also my favourite childhood television programme, is The Transformers (Generation 1). By Transformers, I refer to the original series (1984–1994), not the more recent Japanese adaptations, which, in my view, are a disservice to the classic series.

Professionally, I teach logic, philosophy, and mathematics. I also design and build custom websites and provide consultation on web hosting. I work with individuals and organisations to create professional online platforms—ranging from video-sharing portals, e-commerce sites, and auction platforms to dating services, classified advertisements, discussion forums, and personal webpages.

As an ongoing hobby, I am passionate about horology. I collect (and occasionally trade) vintage and modern wristwatches. My preferred brands include Lange, Breguet, and Omega—particularly vintage Speedmasters from the 1960s and 1970s. I currently maintain a modest collection of twenty timepieces, which I intend to pass on to my children.

Finally, with respect to politics, I identify as an Iranian nationalist—though I firmly reject all forms of racism. My conception of nationalism aligns closely with that of the renowned logician, philosopher, and mathematician Bertrand Russell (1872–1970), who once remarked:

Patriots always talk of dying for their country but never of killing for their country.
